How long does the treatment take?
It takes 2 sittings for a crown and 2-3 sittings for a bridge. At the first appointment, for a crown/veneer, the tooth in question and in case of a bridge the adjacent teeth are reduced to make room for the artificial crowns. An impression (mould) is then taken for fabrication in the laboratory, and a plastic temporary bridge fitted (if required) for the interim period. A trial on the second appointment is done in case of a bridge. Laboratory fabrication takes approximately 2-3 days. At the subsequent visit, the temporary bridge is removed and the final crown/bridge is permanently cemented into place.
